The options for the veterans of America are being widened up by Apple in order to get them to access their health records with the help of their iPhones. This summer, in the event of a test, any of the Veteran American, who receives their healthcare from the Veterans Health Administration, would be able to use the Health app by Apple on their iOS to fetch their medical data.
You will now be able to check for the medications, the lab results, and any of the medical data without the printed copies. You can now also skip the elaborate and extensive walkthrough for getting your health care reports. This also includes the province of receiving care from multiple healthcare providers starting from UC San Diego to John Hopkins.
You do not have to worry about the privacy issues, as Apple has made sure to encrypt all the data, which cannot be accessed without the passcode of your device or biometric including TouchID or FaceID. After Apple introduced its feature for getting access to Health Records, the affairs for the Veterans came up after a year and a half.
However, access to health record facilities is only available through the hospitals and medical networks partnering with the Apple Company. This allows access to more than 9-million veterans that are enrolled for the Health Care Program by the Veterans Administration. Although a few people will have their iPhones to access their health records, this is comparatively handier than it was in the past.
The news of Veterans being able to access their health care records with the health record service by Apple was announced by the Company along with the Veterans Affairs Department on Wednesday. With this move, now the Veterans will be able to view the information related to their health affairs on a single platform and will be able to share their reports with their doctors too.
Even if the veterans seek health care from several providers, the platform for viewing the reports will be one, which includes the medications, lab results, and immunizations, and the data as well, which is gathered up from the apps that are used for health-tracking.
The Apple Health records can also be used by the Non-veterans, but they will only be able to view the data only if their health care provider is associated with Appleās service.
